01 / CUSTOMER PROBLEM
Get from pattern to part faster
Casting can remove board assembly and shorten the route to a prototype, checking part, core box, tooling blank or small-batch functional component.
TOOLING MATERIALSProduct family
Polyurethane casting tooling resins and fillers, vacuum replication, low-pressure RIM, FastCast and elastomers are presented as distinct process routes.

Engineering view / Polyurethane casting resins
PU casting systems bridge flexible parts, rigid filled castings, fast prototypes and functional tooling. The right choice balances hardness, flow, air release, shrinkage, demould time, surface density and CNC or paintability.
01 / CUSTOMER PROBLEM
Casting can remove board assembly and shorten the route to a prototype, checking part, core box, tooling blank or small-batch functional component.
02 / SELECTION LOGIC
Flexible and resilient parts need a different balance from rigid, wear-resistant tooling. Set the duty, wall thickness, mould type, surface requirement and production rhythm before choosing a fast, rigid, RIM or elastomer route.
03 / PROCESS CHECKPOINTS
Control mould release, mixing ratio, temperature, degassing, vents, fill path, cure, demould and post-processing. Low shrinkage and a dense surface only help if the mould and pour practice are also controlled.
04 / RELEASE CHECK
If the casting will be CNC machined, painted or bonded, include those operations in the trial. Check hardness, toughness, edge behaviour and paint or adhesive compatibility against the relevant TDS.

For cast tooling blanks and near-net forms; the published PuCast cards identify grades with EPTEK technical sheets. Select a system by casting size, filler package, cure and machining requirement.
02 / PRODUCT FAMILY
For replication routes where vacuum, surface and release requirements govern the system.
03 / PRODUCT FAMILY
For low-pressure reaction-injection applications; grade selection follows the mould, cure and cycle requirements.

Keep FastCast rapid-cure systems, RIMCast 836 low-pressure RIM resin and RubCast390 elastomer routes separate in selection.
SPECIALIST APPLICATION
Near-net cast blanks provide a continuous body for CNC finishing of master models and tooling. Confirm the required geometry, material grade, cure and stabilisation before machining.
